Justine is the Vice President (Membership) of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Uganda. Previously, she proactively served as, a member of the Training, Certification and Academic Relations Committee of the Board of IIA-U, a member of the IIA Membership Committee, a board member of the Umeme Staff Multipurpose Cooperative, Chairperson of the Operations Committee of the board and a Supervisory Committee member.
Justine is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) with a Master’s in Business Administration (Entrepreneurship & Leadership Management), Advanced Diploma in Accounting & Business, Post Graduate Diploma in IT and a First Class Honors Degree in Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting).
For over 19 years, Justine has served in various positions of responsibility as an audit practitioner and leader. Currently, she serves as the Head Internal Audit at Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL), having previously served as the Senior Internal Audit Manager at Umeme Ltd and various roles in in the energy and telecommunications utilities. She has vast experience in governance, risk management, control processes, quality assurance, information systems assurance, strategic planning, resource optimization, audit, financial & analytic systems and strategic partnerships.
Committed to service and people excellence, motherly Justine as fondly referred to in some circles, is a leader in various capacities in Church, a mentor with the Girls For Girls (G4G) Initiative, JUCHERM & Partners and Eggunjuliro Foundation Uganda.
